Evelyn began her study of Ballet at the age of 7 at a private school in her hometown of Richmond Hill, Ontario. She completed Ryerson University’s Dance Program, obtaining advanced and teaching credentials in both the RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern and National methods. Evelyn toured and danced with the critically acclaimed Les Ballets-Jazz de Montreal (bjm danse) after which she performed in numerous CBC television and stage productions as a freelance artist.

In 1986 (to 2024) Evelyn founded The Bracebridge School of Ballet and concurrently studied for The Enrico Cecchetti Final Diploma and Fellowship exams at the National Ballet School in Toronto. Many of Evelyn’s students have established professional dance careers across the continent.

Her second term as the Secretary for The Cecchetti Society of Canada’s Ontario Branch recently finished where she had the honour of organizing workshops and Cecchetti National Summer Conferences at The National Ballet School. Presently she is following her passion for historical dance research, by accepting an invitation to trace the lineage of ballet greats for the book ‘Cecchetti Pioneers’ volume 2. As Artistic Director of a thriving studio for 30 years, holding RAD, BATD, CDTA and DMC active memberships, Evelyn enjoys guest teaching and choreographic engagements.
